Club Career:

Junior began his career at Agremiacao Sportiva Arapiraquense in early 2009 at the age of 19, and after spending around 6 months in the 'reserve setup', he was given a regular starting place in A.S.A's first-team. where he netted 10 goals in 33 appearances during the 2009/2010 season.

Gremio took Junior on loan in 2010 from ASA where he impressed them enough to sign him to a permanent contract. Junior then made an instant impact as on his debut he scored the equalizing goal against Cruzeiro which Gremio ran out 2-1 winners. In this period (prior to being loaned out) he made 5 appearances scoring 3 goals.

Sport Club do Recife:

Junior once again found himself being loaned out from ASA again to Sport Club where he made 19 appearences scoring 4 times.

Goias Esporte Clube:

Yet again last season, Junior found himself back out on loan but this time it came with some success as he played a significant role is a massive Goias victory, as they beat Atletico 'GO' in the final of a cup on away goals after a 3-3 AGG scoreline, thus making people more aware of who he was, and arguably putting a case forward for finally being given an opportunity with host-club Gremio.

Club Statistics:

A.S.A: 33 appearances - 10 goals

Gremio (as of 12/06/2012): 26 appearences - 12 goals

Sport Club do Recife: 19 appearences - 4 goals

Goiás Esporte Clube: 8 appearences - 1 goal

General Comments:

I decided to go with a tough one for my first profile and trying to get info for this lad wasn't easy, due to Ed002 recently claiming Liverpool are interested in the Brazilian, Ed022 had some posters requesting a Profile on Junior Vecosa.

So, here's my take on him:

His goals-to-game ratio may not be the best but, strikers are only as good as the service they're provided with & from what I have seen, when he gets his chance, he takes it. His general play, linking up with the midfield and holding up play is very good and he has pace to burn which as Liverpool fans will know - pace is needed! If, Liverpool do go ahead with a deal for Vicosa then in my opinion I think this could be a gem of a signing for the club.

{Ed022's note - As some of you may have noticed, this profile was created by Ed023, and this was his 'induction profile' as it were, and I must say I am impressed with it to be honest. I would also like to back up the fact that Ed002 has recently made it clear that Liverpool do have fairly significant interest in Vicosa, but at the moment it is still early days. I would also like to get all of your thoughts on this profile also, and any improvements/questions or general comments on this profile. I for one think Ed023 has done extremely well on this profile as information is extremely limited on the young lad, so wahey there it is. Ed023 will now be helping me with this website, and we hope to make this one of the busiest out of all the sites etc and provide you lot with the information you need on players around the world. Thanks all, and I hope you enjoyed this Profile.}
