An interesting signing for the Mackems, who have mainly sought experience to help them avoid the drop. Talbi is the very obvious odd one out at just 20 years old. Mainly a right winger, but he can play on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder too, which gives them the flexibility they will no doubt need during the season.

He has decent pace, quick off the mark in particular, but he must have short legs as seeing him in isolation Talbi looks like he is moving at 500mph, with his legs pumping like crazy, only for the camera to shift and you can see a player alongside him keeping up with him while looking like he is moving fairly slowly. He is still fairly quick, just not often moving as fast he looks to be moving. He has good movement off the ball as well.

The thing I like about what I saw was his tendency to play with his head up, which aids his delivery when in wide areas. He does have a decent delivery, but he does also have another, not so helpful tendency. Once he releases the ball, cross, shot or pass, he will often just stand around watching.

There were a number of times he was then caught on his heels and it contributing to losing the ball. It is not about laziness though, Talbi has a good work ethic and will try and press to win the ball back every chance he can. It is something that I would expect to be quickly coached out of him, as he could pick up more goals by trying to get in and around the 6 yard box when he has delivered the ball into a dangerous area.

Another thing that will need to be worked on is his strength. Talbi is very weak, which does not just contributing to him falling to the ground in a stiff breeze and to losing the ball at the slightest knock, but it badly affects his shot power. His shot power was terrible, unless his shot is placed well any half-decent goalkeeper is not going to struggle to keep it out.
